California Licensed Inpatient Review Nurse

Job Summary

To support patient care continuity, the full-time California Licensed Inpatient Review Nurse will perform inpatient reviews, generate referrals, and collaborate with healthcare teams while working remotely on a Pacific Time schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Performs reviews of inpatients with complex medical and social problems
• Generates referrals to ancillary service providers and community agencies in collaboration with the patient's primary care physician
• Conducts follow-up reviews and evaluations of patients in lower levels of care settings

Required qualifications

• Current, Active and Unrestricted California Licensed Vocational Nurse
• Minimum of 3 years of general case management experience, including 2 years in a managed care setting as an inpatient case manager
• Successful completion of an accredited Licensed Vocational Nursing Program
• Knowledge of Medicare Managed Care Plans
• Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills related to nursing utilization review
