California Licensed Insurance Specialist

Job Summary

Assisting the collections team to enhance cash collections and reimbursement rates, the full-time California Licensed Insurance Specialist will manage patient accounts, process claims, and support team training in a remote environment.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with the collections team to meet productivity and quality standards while providing training and coaching
• Manage outstanding accounts receivable, including credits and denials, to reduce aging buckets according to departmental goals
• Submit corrected claims and appeals in a timely manner based on payer guidelines

Required qualifications

• High school diploma with some college education preferred
• 2+ years of experience in a clinical laboratory, particularly in genetic billing
• Knowledge of CPT codes, medical terminology, ICD 10 codes, and payer plans
• Strong computer skills, including proficiency in MS Excel
• Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, dynamic environment
