Job Summary
Serving as a key legal advisor, the full-time remote California Licensed IP Counsel will develop and execute a comprehensive intellectual property strategy, manage a team of IP professionals, and collaborate with executive leadership and cross-functional teams to protect and monetize Teradata's IP portfolio.
Key responsibilities
- Drive and execute corporate patent strategy, overseeing patent filing, prosecution, and maintenance activities globally
- Champion the adoption of AI-powered legal tools and establish governance standards for their use within the IP team
- Provide strategic leadership and counsel on trademark, copyright, and IP-related transactions and disputes
Required qualifications
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school; active bar membership in at least one U.S. jurisdiction required
- Minimum of 15 years of intellectual property law experience, including in-house experience at a technology company
- Demonstrated experience managing global patent and trademark portfolios and outside counsel relationships
- Technical background in computer science, software engineering, data analytics, or a related field is a strong plus
- Fluency in the IP landscape for artificial intelligence and experience with IP program technology tools
