California Licensed Lead Research Scientist

Job Summary

Leading applied research and evaluation efforts, the California Licensed Lead Research Scientist will oversee a team, ensuring scientific quality and methodological rigor while working remotely on a full-time or part-time basis, contributing to health equity initiatives and translating findings into actionable strategies.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the design, implementation, and dissemination of applied research and evaluation studies
• Lead the translation of research findings into actionable strategies and technical assistance products for partners
• Supervise and mentor research associates and staff, fostering a collaborative and high-quality research environment

Required qualifications

• Five years of applied research, evaluation, or implementation science experience
• Master's degree in public health, epidemiology, health informatics, or related field; or a bachelor's degree plus two additional years of relevant experience
• Demonstrated experience leading complex, multi-method research and evaluation projects
• Proficiency in advanced quantitative and qualitative methods, including multivariate modeling and thematic synthesis
• Experience in community-based participatory research and systems-level evaluation
