California Licensed Legal Counsel

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Legal Counsel to join their in-house legal department.

Key Responsibilities

• Advise product, engineering, and design teams on legal issues related to feature development and platform operations
• Support legal review of new products, product changes, and technical initiatives
• Draft, review, and maintain user-facing terms, disclosures, policies, and internal guidance

Required Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited U.S. law school or equivalent foreign degree, with admission to practice law
• 2-5 years of experience with legal review of technical products or online services
• Experience with product, privacy, data use, consumer protection, and related legal issues
• Understanding of open internet principles and commitment to free culture movements
• Experience with open source, public policy, or international legal issues is a plus
