California Licensed Lending Counsel

Job Summary

To support a growing regulatory team, the full-time California Licensed Lending Counsel will provide legal and regulatory advice on consumer and commercial lending, navigate complex bank partnership issues, and act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders while working onsite in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Key responsibilities

• Provide legal and regulatory advice on lending regulations, including Reg Z, Reg B, and state licensing requirements
• Lead resolution of complex regulatory and bank partnership issues, assessing risks and providing actionable guidance
• Summarize and analyze the impact of new regulations, offering strategic input on emerging consumer financial products

Required qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in a law firm, financial services regulatory agency, or in-house with lending advisory experience
• Substantive experience with lending and bank partnership issues
• Demonstrated ability to independently lead complex legal and regulatory issues to resolution
• Experience engaging directly with senior stakeholders across legal, compliance, and business teams
• JD and active membership in good standing with the Bar of resident state and/or the California Bar or New York Bar
