Job Summary
Seeking an experienced California Licensed Litigation Counsel, the remote Deputy General Counsel will lead litigation involving restrictive covenants and provide strategic legal advice, while managing all aspects of litigation and collaborating with business leaders to mitigate risks.
Key responsibilities
- Lead and manage litigation involving restrictive covenants, errors and omissions, and contractual disputes from strategy through resolution
- Appear in court for hearings, motions, and trials as necessary, advocating effectively in legal forums
- Provide strategic counseling on hiring practices, including risk assessments and mitigation strategies
Required qualifications
- JD from an accredited school and an active license in good standing in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
- Minimum of 8 years of relevant litigation experience, particularly in restrictive covenant litigation
- Proven experience obtaining or defeating temporary restraining orders and preliminary injunctions in expedited proceedings
- Insurance industry experience preferred
- Ability to manage internal litigation and investigations, as well as outside counsel
