California Licensed Major Gifts Officer

Job Summary

To support a growing fundraising initiative, the full-time California Licensed Major Gifts Officer will build and execute a comprehensive major gifts strategy, focusing on securing high-capacity donations while managing a portfolio of donors across Northern California, Washington, Oregon, and Idaho, primarily from a remote setting.

Key responsibilities

• Secure five-, six-, and seven-figure gifts from individuals and family foundations within the assigned multi-state territory
• Manage a portfolio of 75 donors, utilizing wealth analytics to identify and cultivate new prospects
• Maintain an active schedule of moves management to engage and steward donors through various communication methods

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field; Master's degree preferred
• 5+ years of experience in individual, foundation, and corporate giving, including at least 2 years as a frontline fundraiser
• Demonstrated ability to engage new major gift prospects and grow donor contributions year-over-year
• Solid knowledge of IRS guidelines for charitable contributions and charity accountability standards
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and donor database software such as Raiser's Edge
