California Licensed Managing Funeral Director

Job Summary

To support a growing operation, the part-time contract Managing Funeral Director will ensure compliance with California funeral laws, oversee case management, and provide operational guidance while working hybrid in the Los Angeles area.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure full compliance with California funeral, health, and disposition laws, including maintaining licenses and documentation
• Provide case oversight, including maintaining authorizations and documentation, and signing case documents
• Advise the team on procedures and case management while supporting the setup and inspection of physical facilities

Required qualifications

• Active California funeral director license in good standing
• Not currently acting as Managing Funeral Director for another facility
• Based in or close to the Los Angeles market
• Experience overseeing funeral operations
• Comfortable using technology, including SaaS and mobile communication tools
