Working remotely or in Oakland, the full-time salaried California Licensed Oceans Attorney will address marine wildlife and habitat protections through legal research, litigation, and advocacy, while collaborating with experienced attorneys and contributing to ocean policy reform initiatives.
Key responsibilities
- Litigate under supervision, including oral arguments and legal filings
- Conduct legal research and prepare legal documents, memos, and briefs
- Engage in administrative advocacy, providing comments on rulemakings and environmental reviews
Required qualifications
- Juris Doctor degree
- Admission to the bar of California or the District of Columbia is preferred
- Two to five years of civil litigation experience, with a focus on environmental law
- Demonstrated commitment to environmental protection
- Familiarity with environmental laws and scientific literacy is preferred
