California Licensed Oncology Data Scientist

Job Summary

Responsible for managing all cancer-related data collection systems, the per diem California Licensed Oncology Data Scientist will ensure compliance with State of California and American College of Surgeons guidelines while coordinating Cancer Conferences.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee cancer-related data collection systems and ensure adherence to reporting guidelines
• Coordinate and facilitate Cancer Conferences to discuss reportable cases
• Maintain knowledge of statistical computation and data management tools relevant to oncology data

Required qualifications

• Must be a Certified Tumor Registrar (CTR) or CTR eligible, with the requirement to pass the CTR exam within 6 months of employment
• Completion of an approved Cancer Registry training program is preferred
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in a hospital-based ACoS approved cancer program
• Proven experience in publishing an annual report
• Thorough knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology
