Job Summary
Providing professional optometric expertise, the full-time California Licensed Optometrist Reviewer will review medical records, claims, and Treatment Authorization Requests (TARs) remotely while ensuring compliance with medical policies and standards.
Key responsibilities:
- Review optometry-related medical records and claims for compliance with medical policies
- Evaluate requested services against clinical standards and document findings accurately
- Collaborate with clinical and operational partners to resolve review questions and refer cases as needed
Required qualifications:
- Doctor of Optometry degree from an accredited school of Optometry
- Current, non-expired California license to practice as an Optometrist in good standing
- Minimum of one year of experience working as an Optometrist
- Must not be under suspension from Medicare, Medicaid, or practice in California
- Must not have been previously sanctioned for fraud or abuse
