Job Summary

To support patient financial needs, the full-time California Licensed Patient Financial Counselor will manage patient accounts through financial clearance, payment collection, and eligibility determination for financial assistance programs in a remote setting.

Key responsibilities
  • Assist patients in resolving account issues by providing education and completing applications for financial assistance
  • Identify eligibility for various State and Federal sponsorship programs and make determinations for financial assistance
  • Engage with patients and families directly to facilitate financial clearance and payment collection processes
Required qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 2 years of experience in a hospital, clinic, or healthcare business office
  • 3 years of experience as a Patient Financial Advocate Associate, preferably with Providence St. Joseph Health or its affiliates
  • 2 years of experience with automated, computerized account follow-up systems, preferably in Epic
