California Licensed Payroll Manager

Job Summary

Seeking a California Licensed Payroll Manager, the full-time hybrid role will oversee payroll operations for a growing global workforce, ensuring compliance with multi-state and international payroll regulations while managing payroll-related benefits and improving processes.

Key responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end payroll processing for U.S. employees, including semi-monthly and off-cycle payments
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations, and prepare year-end reporting
• Administer payroll-related benefits and serve as the primary resource for employee payroll inquiries

Required qualifications

• 8+ years of progressive payroll management experience in a multi-state U.S. environment
• Expertise in federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations and compliance
• Experience managing international payroll through Employer of Record (EOR) providers
• Hands-on experience administering payroll-related employee benefits
• Strong knowledge of payroll accounting, reconciliations, and audits
