Job Summary
Supporting patient care remotely, the California Licensed Pharmacy Technician will manage prescription refill requests, authorize renewals based on standing orders, and communicate effectively with healthcare providers and patients in a full-time capacity.
Key responsibilities
- Process and triage prescription renewal requests from pharmacies, EHR, and patients based on approved protocols
- Notify prescribing providers of any criteria not met for medication renewals and update patients on refill statuses
- Handle a high volume of incoming calls professionally while documenting all necessary information in the EHR
Required qualifications
- One (1) year of experience in a non-acute care licensed pharmacy
- Graduate of an accredited pharmacy technician program
- Clear and current California Pharmacy Technician license
- Thorough knowledge of legend drugs and medical terminology
- Excellent computer skills and ability to operate electronic medical records (EMR)
