Job Summary
To support Medicaid rehabilitation programs, the full-time California Licensed PM&R Physician will provide senior-level clinical expertise, oversee medical necessity determinations, and engage with providers while working remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Serve as the subject matter expert for Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, including rehabilitation services and functional restoration programs
- Review complex authorization requests and conduct peer-to-peer consultations to support appropriate care decisions
- Collaborate with clients and internal stakeholders to improve healthcare outcomes and ensure program compliance with Medicaid regulations
Required qualifications
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) with an active, unrestricted U.S. medical license
- Active, unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of California
- Board Certification in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R)
- Minimum of 5+ years of post-residency clinical experience in rehabilitation medicine or related fields
- Strong knowledge of rehabilitation services and experience with Medicaid programs and utilization management
