California Licensed Principal Engineer

Job Summary

Working in a remote/hybrid environment, the full-time California Licensed Principal Engineer will perform design, analysis, and product development for advanced power plant designs, including Small Modular Reactors and Generation IV nuclear power plants, while collaborating with a team of mechanical engineers.

Key responsibilities

• Perform structural, thermal, and seismic analyses on valves and mechanical equipment under various conditions
• Create detailed reports documenting analysis results to industry standards
• Review complex systems for compliance with environmental qualification criteria and regulatory requirements

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering with 10+ years, Master's with 7+, or PhD with 5+ years of relevant experience
• Experience in Finite Element Analysis, preferably with ANSYS
• Demonstrated knowledge of pressure vessel and metallic component analysis
• Familiarity with ASME BPVC standards and parametric modeling, preferably SolidWorks
• Professional engineering licensure in the US or Canada
