Job Summary
Serving as the technical authority for high-voltage infrastructure, the full-time California Licensed Principal Engineer in HV Engineering will provide technical leadership for substations and energy projects, managing activities from design through construction in a hybrid work environment.
Key responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership for high-voltage engineering activities and establish design standards for facilities up to 500kV
- Act as the Owner's technical representative, interfacing with utilities, contractors, and stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle
- Manage and coordinate engineering firms and specialty consultants while overseeing owner-furnished high-voltage equipment
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
- 10+ years of experience in HV engineering and utility-scale renewable energy projects
- Extensive experience with substations, transmission systems, and utility interconnections up to 500kV
- Experience managing owner-furnished high-voltage equipment and multiple engineering firms
- Strong knowledge of IEEE, NESC, NFPA, IEC, utility standards, and interconnection requirements
