California Licensed Product Counsel

Job Summary

Providing legal guidance on financial products, the full-time California Licensed Product Counsel will review product developments, advise on regulatory compliance, and draft consumer agreements while working in a hybrid capacity from the San Francisco office or remotely within Pacific Time hours.

Key responsibilities

• Review new products and features, advising on legal risks and providing practical legal advice throughout the development process
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure legal and regulatory compliance while bringing new products to market
• Draft consumer-facing agreements and review marketing collateral related to financial products

Required qualifications

• J.D. and Bar membership in good standing
• 5+ years of legal experience advising financial institutions or fintech companies
• Experience with consumer loans, deposit accounts, and payments
• Knowledge of mortgage and HELOC products, including RESPA compliance, is a plus
• Strong ability to learn rapidly and adapt to new technologies
