California Licensed Product Counsel

Job Summary

To support innovative product development, the full-time California Licensed Product Counsel will provide practical legal advice throughout the product lifecycle, partnering with cross-functional teams remotely to manage risk and enable data and analytics solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Advise Product, Engineering, and cross-functional stakeholders on legal issues during the product development lifecycle
• Review new products and features, providing timely legal guidance that balances risk management with innovation
• Develop scalable legal policies and training materials to empower teams in making informed decisions

Required qualifications

• J.D. and active membership in at least one U.S. state bar
• 4-7 years of relevant legal experience counseling SaaS companies
• Experience advising on intellectual property, software licensing, privacy, and regulatory considerations
• Ability to operate effectively in fast-paced environments while balancing competing priorities
• Experience with open-source software licensing and AI tools for legal workflow efficiency is a plus
