California Licensed Senior Accountant

Job Summary

To support a privately held government contracting company, the full-time California Licensed Senior Accountant will manage monthly and year-end financial close processes, oversee general ledger activities, and ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and government contracting requirements while working remotely.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual general ledger close activities and prepare financial statements in accordance with GAAP
• Assist with accounting for direct and indirect costs associated with government contracts and ensure proper classification of costs
• Maintain accurate accounting records and documentation while supporting audits and compliance with applicable regulations

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field; Accounting degree strongly preferred
• 3-7 years of progressive accounting experience with strong general ledger and financial statement experience
• Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and ability to apply it to actual accounting transactions
• Experience preparing and reviewing account reconciliations and financial analyses using Excel
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound professional judgment in accounting practices
