Job Summary
Experienced California Licensed Senior Counsel will manage strategic partnerships in a full-time capacity, overseeing the legal structuring of banking products and services while collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive product innovation and regulatory compliance, both remotely and onsite in San Francisco.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the legal structuring of bank-fintech payments partnerships, including drafting and reviewing key agreements and customer-facing terms
- Drive product strategy and innovation by partnering with business teams and fintech partners from ideation through launch, anticipating challenges and providing legal guidance
- Build and evolve regulatory frameworks for existing and new products, ensuring compliance with applicable banking regulations and standards
Required Qualifications
- J.D. or equivalent, currently licensed in a U.S. state, with 7-15+ years of legal experience, including both law firm and in-house roles in fintech or financial institutions
- Deep expertise in banking infrastructure, embedded finance solutions, and regulatory frameworks related to payments and money transmission
- Strong ability to draft and negotiate complex commercial agreements with a solid understanding of contract law
- Comprehensive knowledge of NACHA rules, Regulation E, and other relevant banking regulations
- Proven ability to manage a high volume of cross-functional legal work efficiently and effectively
