Seeking a California Licensed Senior Legal Counsel in Employment, this full-time remote position will manage employment and labor law matters, providing strategic legal guidance, conducting investigations, and advising on compliance and risk management within a higher education context.
Key responsibilities
- Providing practical legal counsel and risk assessment on operational and strategic matters related to higher education
- Serving as lead counsel on employment-related disputes and managing pre-litigation and litigation matters
- Conducting workplace and student-related investigations, recommending resolutions, and advising on compliance with employment laws
Required qualifications
- Minimum of 10 years of experience practicing employment law in a litigation or higher education setting
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an ABA-accredited law school
- Active license to practice law in California
- Experience advising on complex employment issues, including workplace investigations and regulatory compliance
- Strong knowledge of federal and state employment laws, including FLSA, ADA, and FMLA
