California Licensed Senior Staff Engineer

Job Summary

Owning the design and delivery of core Agent Services, the full-time California Licensed Senior Staff Engineer will manage technical specifications, lead cross-functional efforts, and ensure production readiness while working remotely.

Key responsibilities:

• Take full technical ownership of an Agent Service, including data model design, API surface definition, and core logic implementation
• Lead cross-functional technical efforts, breaking down ambiguous problems and building consensus among teams
• Mentor engineers on Postgres internals and distributed systems design while ensuring components meet durability, availability, and performance commitments

Required qualifications:

• 10+ years of experience in building and operating large-scale distributed systems or cloud data infrastructure
• Solid knowledge of Postgres, including query planning, execution, and replication
• Strong systems programming experience in C or C++, with proficiency in a higher-level language such as Go, Ruby, or Python
• Experience with high-availability, multi-tenant, or highly distributed data systems in cloud environments
• BS/MS in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent demonstrated experience
