California Licensed Senior Underwriter
Job Summary
A company is looking for a Mortgage Loan Underwriter Senior to evaluate credit risk and determine borrowers' repayment abilities for residential mortgages.
Key Responsibilities
- Review loan packages for completeness and compliance with established policies
- Analyze borrowers' financial capacity and document conclusions to mitigate risks
- Mentor and train junior underwriters while ensuring compliance with regulatory guidelines
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 7 years of experience as an Underwriter in financial services or mortgage banking
- Experience with jumbo and super jumbo underwriting to investor guidelines
- Knowledge of state and federal lending regulations
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or related field with extensive mortgage banking experience
- Familiarity with FNMA/FHLMC guidelines and mortgage industry software
