Job Summary
A company is looking for a Sr. Underwriter to analyze and evaluate consumer home loan applications and assess Borrower's creditworthiness.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform mortgage credit analysis to determine Borrower's ability to repay mortgage debt
- Validate loan applications and supporting documentation, ensuring compliance with underwriting guidelines
- Approve or deny loans and document decisions in the system accordingly
Required Qualifications
- Recent underwriting experience in the mortgage industry
- Experience with FHA, VA, or USDA loans
- Thorough understanding of state and federal regulations related to mortgage underwriting
- High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred
- Experience with automated underwriting systems and loan origination systems
