California Licensed Senior Underwriter
Job Summary
Responsible for auditing Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, FHA, VA, USDA, and Non-Agency loans, the full-time remote California Licensed Senior Underwriter will perform pre-funding quality control reviews, monitor action plan implementations, and analyze reports to ensure compliance with investor quality standards.
Key responsibilities
- Perform pre-funding quality control reviews of loans and collaborate on remediation of identified defects
- Monitor and communicate the progress of action plans based on quality control findings to internal and external stakeholders
- Analyze reports and data to identify deficiencies and opportunities for improvement, acting as a subject matter expert in Quality Control
Required qualifications
- 6+ years of experience in Underwriting Review, Mortgage Quality Control, or a related field
- High school diploma required; Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred
- Advanced knowledge of the residential mortgage industry and applicable regulatory compliance obligations
- Familiarity with FNMA, FHLMC, FHA, and VA guidelines and Federal regulatory procedures
- Basic knowledge of fraud detection and advanced TRID knowledge
