California Licensed Solar Designer

Job Summary

To support the Home Energy Solutions division, a full-time California Licensed Solar Designer will generate solar blueprints using AutoCAD, ensure accurate scope of work through detailed reviews, and collaborate with construction managers and sales teams, with the option to work remotely or from the Irvine, CA office.

Key responsibilities

• Utilize AutoCAD to create solar blueprints that meet jurisdictional and utility requirements
• Become a subject matter expert on Qcells' battery systems and residential product pairings
• Identify factors affecting project scope, cost, and installation complexity while collaborating with construction managers

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field with 5-8+ years of experience, including 3-5 years in solar system design
• Proficiency in AutoCAD
• Strong understanding of NEC and CRC codes
• Experience with local permitting processes
• Impeccable attention to detail and strong organizational skills
