California Licensed Staff Counsel

Job Summary

Managing a caseload from inception to resolution, the full-time California Licensed Staff Counsel will independently represent clients in court, handle pre-trial discovery, and draft legal documents while working remotely, except for in-person trial appearances as needed.

Key responsibilities

• Independently represent the Insured in court, presenting witnesses and evidence on litigated claims
• Analyze complex legal issues and develop defense strategies through extensive legal research
• Prepare pleadings, written discovery, motions, and briefs in support of defense strategies

Required qualifications

• California State licensed attorney
• Knowledge of state laws and local court policies and procedures
• Strong legal research and writing skills
• 4-15 years of relevant practice group litigation experience
