California Licensed Staff Dentist

Job Summary

To support a growing clinical team, the part-time California Licensed Staff Dentist will perform remote reviews of dental claims, prior authorizations, and treatment requests, ensuring compliance with clinical guidelines and quality standards while working approximately 20 hours per week.

Key responsibilities

• Review dental claims, referrals, and prior authorization requests across multiple lines of business
• Participate in calibration sessions to promote consistency and accuracy in clinical decision-making
• Conduct peer-to-peer consultations with treating providers regarding clinical determinations and treatment alternatives

Required qualifications

• DDS or DMD degree from an accredited dental school
• Current, active, and unrestricted California dental license in good standing
• Minimum of six (6) years of experience as a practicing dentist
• Strong knowledge of dental procedures, clinical guidelines, and coding standards
• Ability to review and interpret dental radiographs and treatment plans
