California Licensed Substation Electrician

Job Summary

To support an established West Coast Utility Company, the part-time California Licensed Substation Electrician will analyze drone and helicopter data to evaluate substation structures and assets, identify safety and maintenance issues, and document findings accurately in internal systems while working remotely in the PST timezone.

Key responsibilities:

• Review drone photos to identify non-conformities in substation structures and assets
• Evaluate the strength, durability, and quality of substation components, providing recommendations for safety and maintenance
• Document changes and findings in internal systems, ensuring accurate records are maintained

Required qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience as a Substation Electrician or equivalent experience, including transmission
• 7+ years of experience as a Qualified Electrical Worker (QEW)
• Proficient in industry standards related to substations and inspecting assets for safety concerns
• Experience with substation guy wire system components and functions
• Familiarity with SAP, Sherlock/iHawk, EDGIS, and strong computer skills including Office 365
