Job Summary
To support an established West Coast Utility Company, the part-time California Licensed Substation Electrician will analyze drone and helicopter data, review substation structures for non-conformities, and identify safety and maintenance issues while working remotely in the PST timezone.
Key responsibilities:
- Review drone photos to identify non-conformities in substation structures and assets
- Evaluate strength, durability, and quality of substation components, providing recommendations for safety and maintenance
- Document changes in internal systems and ensure accurate record-keeping of evaluations and inspections
Required qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience as a Substation Electrician or equivalent, including transmission
- 7+ years of experience as a Qualified Electrical Worker (QEW)
- Proficient in industry standards related to substations
- Previous experience inspecting substation assets for safety concerns
- Familiarity with SAP, Sherlock/iHawk, EDGIS, and good computer skills including Teams and Office 365
