Job Summary
To support an established West Coast Utility Company, the part-time California Licensed Substation Electrician will analyze and evaluate drone and helicopter data related to electric towers, poles, and substations, ensuring safety and maintenance standards are met while working remotely in the PST timezone.
Key responsibilities
- Review drone photos to identify non-conformities in substation structures and assets
- Evaluate the strength, durability, and quality of substation structures while providing recommendations for improvements
- Document findings and changes in internal systems, ensuring accurate records are maintained
Required qualifications
- 5+ years of experience as a Substation Electrician or equivalent experience, including transmission
- 7+ years of experience as a Qualified Electrical Worker (QEW)
- Proficient in industry standards relating to substations
- Experience inspecting substation assets for safety concerns
- Familiarity with SAP, Sherlock/iHawk, EDGIS, and good computer skills including Teams and Office 365
