Job Summary
To support an established West Coast Utility Company, the part-time California Licensed Substation Electrician will analyze and evaluate drone and helicopter data related to electric towers, poles, and substations, identifying safety and maintenance issues while ensuring accurate documentation in internal systems.
Key responsibilities:
- Review drone photos to identify non-conformities in substation structures and assets
- Evaluate the strength, durability, and quality of substation structures and provide recommendations
- Work collaboratively in a cross-functional environment to address exceptions and ensure quality control
Required qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience as a Substation Electrician or equivalent experience, including transmission
- 7+ years of experience as a Qualified Electrical Worker (QEW)
- Proficient in industry standards related to substations and safety inspections
- Experience with substation guy wire system components and functions
- Good computer skills, including proficiency in Teams, Excel, and Office 365; experience with SAP and similar tools is preferred
