Job Summary
To support a high-quality medical facility, the remote Coder II - Surgical will assign ICD-10-CM and CPT codes for patients, ensuring accurate coding and compliance with guidelines while meeting productivity standards.
Key responsibilities
- Perform accurate and timely coding (CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS, modifiers) for surgical services
- Maintain knowledge of coding regulations, Medicare rules, and multi-specialty surgical coding guidelines
- Identify coding trends and issues, presenting solutions to enhance overall coding practices
Required qualifications
- Certified Procedural Coder (CPC) required; CIRCC preferred
- High school diploma or GED required
- Minimum of 3 years of surgical coding experience in a multi-specialty medical group
- Familiarity with ICD-10-CM, CPT-4 coding, and payment methodologies
- Working knowledge of California and National reporting requirements
