Job Summary
To support the Occupational Lead Poisoning Prevention Program, the full-time California Licensed Surveillance Epidemiologist will manage the California Adult Blood Lead Level Registry, collaborate on compliance issues, and prepare data reports while working remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Leads the operation and maintenance of the California Adult Blood Lead Registry, making decisions on program direction and surveillance activities
- Collaborates with the Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention Branch to address lab compliance and reporting regulations
- Conducts data analysis and disseminates findings to stakeholders through reports and scientific publications
Required qualifications
- Ph.D. in Epidemiology or a related field, with at least two years of post-doctoral experience in public health
- Experience in designing and conducting epidemiologic studies, particularly in occupational health
- Proficiency in statistical software such as SAS, R, and/or Python
- Evidence of prior publications as a primary or co-author
- Ability to analyze complex data and translate results into actionable prevention recommendations
