California Licensed Underwriting Director

Job Summary

Leading a team of Underwriters, the full-time California Licensed Underwriting Director will evaluate insurance applicants, manage underwriting decisions, and support a people-first culture in a 100% remote work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Complete wing-to-wing underwriting decisions and review upfront underwriting data
• Coach and develop Underwriting Consultants and Senior Consultants
• Finalize cases and perform second-sign duties as needed while adhering to productivity and quality standards

Required qualifications

• 10 - 12+ years of Life Insurance Underwriting experience with proven proficiency in underwriting processes
• 5+ years of team management experience in an Underwriting capacity
• Ability to handle advanced decision-level authorities without a co-signature ($15 Million or higher)
• Bachelor's Degree preferred
• Completion of FALU, CLU, FLMI, or other insurance-related coursework is a plus
