California Licensed Underwriting Manager

Job Summary

Supporting the underwriting department remotely, the full-time California Licensed Underwriting Manager will manage daily operations, provide coaching and training to Underwriters, and ensure compliance with service level agreements while assisting with special projects as needed.

Key responsibilities

• Provide coaching, mentoring, and training to Underwriters on processes and guidelines
• Serve as the primary point of contact for Underwriters regarding questions and clarifications
• Manage the underwriting pipeline to ensure loans meet service level agreements

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
• DE, SAR, and LAPP certifications required; USDA experience is a plus
• 5+ years of mortgage underwriting experience (FHA, VA, and Conventional)
• 5+ years of underwriting supervisory experience
• Experience with Encompass LOS and knowledge of ATR/QM requirements
