California Licensed Vice President of Accounting

Job Summary

Leading the accounting organization, the full-time California Licensed Vice President of Accounting will oversee financial reporting, accounting operations, and internal controls in a remote-first environment while driving modernizations through AI-enabled tools and workflows.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the controllership function, ensuring accurate and timely GAAP-compliant financial statements and management reporting
• Own the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, focusing on improving efficiency and reliability in financial reporting
• Build and enhance accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to support audit readiness and scalable growth

Required qualifications

• 15+ years of progressive accounting leadership experience in a growth-stage, multi-entity, or global organization
• Prior experience as a VP of Accounting, Corporate Controller, or similar senior accounting leader
• CPA strongly preferred, with public accounting experience or audit-readiness experience as a plus
• Deep knowledge of U.S. GAAP, tax compliance, and financial reporting processes
• Expertise with NetSuite and familiarity with AI and automation in accounting operations
