Job Summary
Leading the design execution for Montera's facility projects, the full-time California Licensed Vice President of Design will manage end-to-end design delivery, oversee a team of Principal Engineers, and ensure alignment with client requirements while working in a hybrid environment.
Key responsibilities
- Own end-to-end design delivery across the portfolio, ensuring adherence to schedule milestones and budget targets
- Lead and develop a team of Principal Engineers, integrating multi-discipline designs into a coherent facility plan
- Define and manage design contracts with external partners while overseeing design performance through construction
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture or Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or related); professional licensure (PE/RA) preferred
- 15+ years of experience in data center or mission-critical design and delivery, with a focus on hyperscale facilities
- Proven track record of leading design across the full delivery lifecycle from concept to commissioning
- Experience in defining, negotiating, and managing design contracts and overseeing construction-related processes
- Strong understanding of the integration of architectural, electrical, mechanical, controls, and network scopes
