California Licensed VP of Legal

Job Summary

Leading the legal function for a rapidly scaling consumer healthcare company, the California Licensed VP of Legal will provide strategic legal guidance on regulatory, commercial, and compliance matters while operating remotely in a full-time capacity.

Key responsibilities

• Own and lead the legal function across corporate, regulatory, commercial, and compliance matters
• Serve as a strategic legal advisor to the CEO and executive team on key business and regulatory decisions
• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations

Required qualifications

• JD from an accredited law school and active membership in at least one U.S. state bar
• Experience advising regulated consumer, healthcare, or telehealth businesses
• Strong regulatory judgment and ability to interpret state-by-state requirements
• Excellent commercial contract drafting and negotiation skills
• Experience building scalable legal processes and frameworks from scratch
