California Licensed VP of Underwriting

Job Summary

Providing solutions for loan level escalations, the full-time California Licensed VP of Underwriting will manage a team, ensure service level agreements are met, and assist with complex underwriting scenarios in a remote setting.

Key responsibilities

• Underwrite conventional and government loans (FHA, VA) while maintaining and reporting underwriter bonuses
• Guide the underwriting team and branches in resolving complex scenarios and escalations
• Monitor the underwriting pipeline to ensure productivity and adherence to service level agreements

Required qualifications

• Direct Endorsement status from HUD and/or SAR authority from VA, with experience in USDA preferred
• 5+ years of Mortgage Underwriting Experience (FHA, VA, USDA, Conventional) with agency guideline knowledge
• 3+ years of Underwriting management experience preferred
• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred
• Working knowledge of ATR/QM requirements and proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
