California Licensed Wetlands Scientist

Job Summary

Supporting the Wetlands Protection Program, the part-time hourly California Licensed Wetlands Scientist will manage technical reviews, quality control, and oversight of consultant work products while coordinating with various stakeholders in a remote capacity.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct technical reviews and quality control of wetlands and waterway jurisdictional delineation reports and project permit applications
• Coordinate and communicate with on-call consultants and internal teams to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations
• Support permitting strategies and provide guidance based on project needs and wetland science practices

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree
• 3 years of general Water Quality compliance experience
• 3 years of experience in regulatory permitting and negotiation in California
• 2 years of jurisdictional water and wetland delineation experience
• 2 years of resource and project planning experience
