Job Summary
Managing a complex portfolio of Workers' Compensation accounts, the full-time Senior Property and Casualty Underwriter will provide advanced technical underwriting expertise, ensure compliance with guidelines, and cultivate broker relationships while working remotely in California.
Key responsibilities:
- Underwrite new and renewal Workers' Compensation accounts, adhering to underwriting guidelines and state regulations
- Analyze submissions to select profitable risks and determine appropriate pricing and coverage structures
- Mentor junior underwriters and collaborate with internal teams to enhance underwriting practices and improve risk selection
Required qualifications:
- Minimum of 6+ years of Workers' Compensation underwriting experience, with 8+ years preferred
- Strong knowledge of California Workers' Compensation regulations and rate environment
- Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Business Administration, Finance, or related field
- Active state Property & Casualty license (California preferred)
- Preferred industry designations include CPCU, ARM, or CIC
