California or Colorado Licensed VP of Accounting

Job Summary

Leading the accounting organization, the full-time California or Colorado Licensed VP of Accounting will manage the controllership function, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance, and scalable accounting processes in a fully remote environment.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee financial reporting, accounting operations, and internal controls to ensure GAAP compliance
• Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, focusing on improving efficiency and accuracy
• Implement AI-enabled tools and automation to enhance accounting processes and team productivity

Required qualifications

• 15+ years of progressive accounting leadership experience in a multi-entity or global organization
• Prior experience as a VP of Accounting or similar senior accounting role with ownership of close and reporting
• CPA strongly preferred, with a background in public accounting or audit-readiness experience
• Deep knowledge of U.S. GAAP, technical accounting, and financial reporting
• Expertise with NetSuite and experience in improving accounting systems and processes
