California Payer Contracting Manager

Job Summary

Managing all managed care contracting efforts, the full-time salaried California Payer Contracting Manager will negotiate, implement, and maintain payer contracts while ensuring compliance with regulations in a remote setting.

Key responsibilities

• Negotiate, implement, and track performance of all managed care contracts for the health system
• Review and analyze contract language, reimbursement methodologies, and maintain a centralized contract repository
• Serve as the primary liaison between the organization and payer representatives, supporting contract interpretation and issue resolution

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred
• Three years of experience in managed care contracting, including familiarity with Epic and contract management software
• Knowledge of California and Federal rules related to managed care contracting, billing, and compliance
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
• Ability to effectively communicate with administration, employees, and medical staff
