Job Summary

Managing payroll and benefits operations remotely, the full-time California Payroll and Benefits Manager will oversee payroll execution, ensure compliance with labor laws, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize systems and processes.

Key responsibilities
  • Oversee end-to-end payroll operations and maintain data integrity within the HRIS
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws while managing year-end payroll activities
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to streamline operational processes and manage relationships with external payroll vendors
Required qualifications
  • Demonstrated expertise in managing complex, multi-state payroll operations and benefits administration
  • Advanced knowledge of payroll platforms, with experience in Rippling and Tilt preferred
  • Strong understanding of payroll and benefits regulations, including ERISA, COBRA, ACA, and FMLA
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and build structured processes from the ground up
  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to data integrity and confidentiality
