California Payroll Compliance Manager

Job Summary

Leading payroll compliance initiatives, the full-time Senior Payroll Compliance Program Manager will serve as the enterprise expert on federal and California payroll regulations, develop scalable compliance solutions, and provide strategic risk insights while working remotely.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as the enterprise guide on FLSA and California labor laws, establishing standard interpretations and mentorship throughout the company
• Lead cross-functional projects to define system requirements for compliant payroll calculations and oversee the implementation of payroll system updates
• Develop and lead an enterprise audit program to ensure compliance with payroll practices, including timekeeping and wage statement regulations

Required Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in payroll compliance and payroll operations
• CPP or FPC certification
• Strong expertise in FLSA and California wage and hour regulations
• Proven experience managing enterprise compliance programs in medium to large organizations
• Expertise in major payroll/timekeeping platforms such as Workday, SAP, or ADP
