Job Summary

Seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Manager for a fully remote, part-time contract position that will manage full-cycle payroll operations for a multi-state workforce, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations, particularly in California and New York.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage full-cycle payroll processing across approximately 10 states, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations
• Process payroll for exempt and non-exempt employees, including various compensation adjustments and handle off-cycle payrolls
• Collaborate with HR, Finance, and Accounting teams to support payroll-related reporting and employee lifecycle events

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive payroll experience in a multi-state environment
• Strong knowledge of payroll laws and regulations, particularly in California and New York
• Experience processing payroll for both exempt and non-exempt employees
• Proficiency in Paylocity is required
• Solid understanding of payroll tax compliance, reporting, and reconciliation processes
