Job Summary
Supporting payroll functions remotely, the full-time Payroll Tax Consultant will manage multi-state payroll tax compliance, assist with employer registrations, and resolve payroll tax issues as part of a 10-week contract position.
Key responsibilities
- Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax laws and reporting requirements
- Collaborates with the third-party payroll services provider to resolve payroll tax issues
- Researches and completes employer payroll tax registrations and maintains state payroll tax accounts
Required qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of payroll tax experience, particularly in a multi-state environment
- Experience with employer payroll tax registrations and resolving accounts in "Applied For" status
- Familiarity with obtaining state withholding and unemployment account numbers
- Experience with Workday Payroll or other cloud-based payroll systems preferred
